mend Acupuncture Session
This 45 minute session will consist of a brief systems interview and review of goals before needling. Treatments will vary session to session. Needles will be retained a minimum of 15 minutes and maximum of 30 minutes
Gua Sha
Using a spoon, bone, jade, or manufactured steel; Gua Sha is a scraping technique used in Traditional Chinese Medicine to vent pathogens to the surface of the skin to relieve symptoms. Dramatically increases blood flow and leaves a trail of petechiae. Used as needed.
cupping
A decompressive therapy used to vent pathogens to the surface and relieve symptoms and discomfort. Soft silicon, vaccumed or fired glass jars are applied to the skin of the back and retained for up to 20 minutes; can be moving or stationary. Generally leaves “bruised” appearance.
Electro-Acupuncture
A modified TENS unit (equipped with clips instead of muscle pads) is applied to specific needled acupuncture points. This therapy is primarily used in pain management treatments. Retained for duration of service or to tolerance.
